Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) has an opening for the post of Deputy Secretary General at its head office in Gurgaon, Haryana.  AEPC, sponsored by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India was incorporated in 1978.  AEPC is the largest trade promotion Council with offices across the country and is the nodal agency to promote exports of readymade garments from India.
 
AEPC offers technical assistance and market information to its members and seeks to expand existing markets as well as open new markets for Indian apparel.   Apparel is one of the largest export items of India currently accounting for around US $ 15.51 billion annually. 
 
 
Job profile.
 
The incumbent will lead a team of the professionals in the Export Promotion Department of the Council and look after the day to day administrative work and human resource development.  He/she will primarily be engaged in export promotion to the apparel industry, organisation and administration of international & domestic fairs, arranging delegates meet in various potential countries, coordinating with Indian embassies/high commissions of countries of delegates’ visits/hosts of the EP events, liaisoning with various ministries including Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Textiles, Ministry of Finance and other related ministries. 
 
The position will report to the Secretary General of the Council and will be responsible for identifying, analysing and preparing action plan for emerging issues, project scoping and providing recommendations for various government policies/schemes to apparel sector.   Also engaged in arranging data collection related to various schemes including drawback, RODTEP and ATUF.
Additionally the candidate will be responsible to develop and implement council’s communication strategy in order to achieve its key objectives in consultation with the stakeholders.

Qualification & Experience
 
The incumbent should preferably be an MBA or a Post Graduate in Public Policy from a premier institute.  Should have minimum 15 years’ of similar work experience in handling International and Domestic events.  Knowledge of the textiles and apparel industry would be preferred.  Should have good knowledge of WTO, bilateral and multilateral trade agreements.  Should have good Liaising skills with various government departments. Should have experience of administrative work and must be well versed with public dealing.
 
The said position will be based at Head office, Gurgaon (Haryana)
